Sr. Cost Accountant/Analyst (Manufacturing)

Location: Syracuse, NY, United States. Relocation support is provided for the right candidate. The role involves supporting finance activities across multiple manufacturing sites and requires compliance with US export-control requirements.

Salary: $75,364–$125,607 annually. An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply, and alternative shifts may include a shift premium.

What you will do

• Analyze plant performance metrics, cost performance, variances, and profitability, and provide recommendations to finance and general management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, period-end variance analysis, month-end close, journal entries, and virtual P&L reporting.
• Manage inventory valuation activities, including reconciliations, production-cost percentages, excess and obsolete inventory reserves, scrap, and WIP aging.
• Perform cost analysis covering absorption, job close variances, purchase price variances, standard cost rates, indirect rates, and customer or part-number profitability.
• Support the conversion of the ERP system to Oracle and configure departments, resources, overhead, cost drivers, and rates with the Oracle SME.
• Coordinate and execute quarterly sample audits of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished-goods inventory.

Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with standard costing, strong research and analytical skills, and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems creatively, think strategically, and communicate with all levels of management.
• Must comply with applicable ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and TTM export-control policies; access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US citizens and US permanent residents.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SQL or Microsoft Access.
• Experience with Alteryx.
