Senior Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

Salary: $63,375–$88,500 per year

What you will do

• Maintain the standard costing system and ensure product costs remain accurate and current.
• Analyze material price, labor efficiency, overhead spending, manufacturing variances, gross margin, and production trends.
• Prepare monthly journal entries for inventory, COGS, and manufacturing allocations.
• Review Bills of Materials and routings, calculate overhead rates, and ensure accurate labor and overhead absorption.
• Support month-end close by reconciling inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger and investigating discrepancies.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counting, monitor obsolete and slow-moving inventory, and support budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with Excel, Monarch, Microsoft Word, email, and accounting software.
• Knowledge of manufacturing costing, inventory, COGS, BOMs, and US GAAP.
• Must be able to work onsite in Secaucus, New Jersey, United States.
• Certain positions may require U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility for an export control license.

Nice to have

• Prior SAP experience.
• Knowledge of SOX 404 requirements.
• Proficiency on a 10-key keypad.
