Salary: $100,300–$160,500 for East Peoria, IL; $135,000–$178,000 for Fort Collins, CO and Denver, CO.

What you will do

  • Develop electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, component layouts, and one-line diagrams for low- and medium-voltage switchgear and generator control systems.
  • Design and implement transfer, load management, generator, microgrid, and SCADA control schemes.
  • Create and modify PLC programs for generator paralleling switchgear and adapt HMI programs to project-specific requirements.
  • Research components, prepare bills of materials, and coordinate specifications and approvals with purchasing and suppliers.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, testing, and product support teams, including design reviews and commissioning.
  • Improve engineering standards and mentor associates while coordinating with contractors, consultants, engineers, and end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience programming industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience implementing software in 24x7 shop-floor environments and working with automated control systems.
  • Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage power systems, switchgear, ATS, generator synchronization, grounding schemes, and control sequences.
  • Required knowledge of multiple PLC and HMI platforms, including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Modicon/Schneider Electric, Siemens, GE, and Wonderware, plus Modbus and CAN bus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical and knowledge of applicable electrical codes, NFPA, NEC, and UL requirements.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of UL891, UL1558, UL Medium Voltage, and UL508A standards.
