PLC and Automation Software Developer

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Studio 5000 PLC and safety logic for the Compact GuardLogix 5380 platform.
• Implement operating sequences, permissives, interlocks, operating modes, fault handling, alarms, and diagnostics.
• Configure distributed I/O, EtherNet/IP devices, data mapping, and HMI functions for operator control and troubleshooting.
• Maintain the software scope and interfaces for shelter AC/DC PDU-panel automation without extending it to DC-converter or rack-PDU drawers.
• Prepare and execute simulations, bench tests, and factory acceptance testing, documenting results, defects, resolutions, and release readiness.
• Support controlled commissioning and troubleshooting with hardware, manufacturing, quality, and field personnel while maintaining version, backup, baseline, and change-control records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting PLC applications in Studio 5000, including safety logic and Compact GuardLogix-class systems.
• Working knowledge of distributed I/O, EtherNet/IP integration, HMI configuration, alarms, diagnostics, industrial communications, and controlled commissioning.
• Ability to create software design notes, interface definitions, test procedures, release records, troubleshooting documentation, and cross-functional handoffs.
• Must meet ITAR export-control requirements as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Nice to have

• Experience automating power-distribution equipment, shelter PDU panels, industrial control panels, or comparable factory-built systems.
• Experience with factory acceptance testing, controlled commissioning, fault isolation, production troubleshooting, and software change or release reviews.
