Senior SCADA Engineer, Design (SCADA)

Location: Remote - California, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $125,114–$166,402 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the in-house design of SCADA monitoring and control systems for solar PV, wind, and BESS projects.
• Develop and review communications diagrams, networking port maps, power diagrams, equipment bills of materials, wiring diagrams, and fiber routing documentation.
• Define and improve SCADA design, drawing review, documentation, and quality standards.
• Lead requirements gathering, technical reviews, customer meetings, factory acceptance tests, and coordination with integrators, utilities, and field personnel.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex equipment configurations, design issues, commissioning, and field problems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support project handoff, operational readiness, and long-term system reliability.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of engineering experience or equivalent, including direct SCADA engineering experience.
• Experience with engineering drawing sets for SCADA, networking, electrical, or substation systems.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, fiber optics, RS-232/RS-485, and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Advanced knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA, and OPC DA.
• Ability to read and develop power system, networking, control, electrical, mechanical, and civil diagrams.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with subcontractors and field personnel; an engineering degree is preferred.
