Drafter 2 (NSSS Mechanical System Engineering)

Location: Remote within the contiguous United States, with travel as required; onsite presence four days per week is required for employees living within 30 miles of a current NuScale office location. Corvallis, Oregon is listed as a role location.

Target pay: $29.10–$35.12 per hour. Full pay range: $26.09–$40.81 per hour.

What you will do

• Generate 3D parts and assemblies in Siemens NX with guidance from senior personnel.
• Develop geometry for FEA and CFD analysis models.
• Prepare process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams for primary and balance-of-plant systems.
• Create 2D line drawings and figures for engineering reports.
• Support engineers and senior designers with design documentation for reports and studies.
• Maintain CAD part metadata in Aras Product Lifecycle Management.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in drafting, engineering graphics technology, or pre-engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least two years of directly applicable full-time experience; a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering may substitute for work experience.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and best practices, developed through work, internship, or coursework.
• Familiarity with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
• Strong verbal and written communication, computer, presentation, organization, and time-management skills.
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Experience applying Part Manufacturing Information to models.
