Location: Folsom, California, United States; office or hybrid environment required

Estimated starting salary: $71,338.47–$98,090.40 per year

What you will do

  • Lead detailed designs, technical drawings, layouts, and 3D models for complex aerospace and defense projects.
  • Review designs for accuracy, standards compliance, regulatory requirements, and safety.
  • Identify and resolve design errors, omissions, and deficiencies while improving design processes and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to meet specifications and budget constraints.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for design reviews and project milestones.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Design, Drafting, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • At least 2 years of design or drafting experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
  • Knowledge of design principles, drafting standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with computer-aided engineering tools, technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, or publications.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Advanced CAD techniques and familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
  • Exposure to full lifecycle design processes, agile development, and GD&T principles.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for project needs.
