Structural Designer (Renewable Structural)

Location: Remote or local/in-office in Lakewood, Colorado; full-time remote candidates are eligible. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary: $32.00–$47.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Design and draft steel, concrete, and foundation systems for utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, and substation projects.
• Develop structural drawing packages including general arrangements, foundation plans and sections, reinforcing details, steel framing plans, elevations, connection details, loading diagrams, fabrication drawings, and installation details.
• Support engineers with design calculations, construction details, and material take-offs.
• Check and coordinate designs for accuracy, constructability, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Review vendor and shop drawings and submittals; perform limited field inspections to verify as-built conditions.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines and support construction teams.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of drafting, design, engineering, or related experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong command of the English language and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and people skills.
• Understanding of applicable codes and standards, including IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and IEEE.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and manage assigned work, self-check deliverables, and promptly report discrepancies.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with or knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with MicroStation.
