Automation Engineer (PLC/SCADA)

Location: Tilburg, Netherlands; onsite at the plant.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems and machinery to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce manual intervention.
• Program, test, and validate PLC and SCADA control systems for accurate, efficient, and reliable operations.
• Integrate equipment and systems to support seamless plant operations and improved performance.
• Monitor system performance, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Serve as the main point of contact for automation topics and collaborate with Production, Quality, EHS, Warehouse, and IT teams.
• Drive continuous improvements in process control and automation, maintaining SOPs, system specifications, and maintenance records.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Industrial Automation Engineering.
• At least 5 years of PLC and SCADA programming experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and process control, including interlock systems.
• Experience with PLC technologies such as Siemens or Emerson and SCADA systems such as iFIX or Cimplicity.
• Knowledge of ATEX regulations and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
• Fluent Dutch and English, written and spoken.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in regulated industries such as food or pharma, including GMP and food safety standards.
• Hands-on mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
