What you will do

  • Oversee the design and completion of Natrium fuel assemblies and other pinned assemblies for fabrication.
  • Act as technical design authority and interface with design, analysis, supply, regulatory, customer, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor major technical issues, support complex analytical work, and ensure compliance with project, contract, industry, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate engineering staffing, workload allocation, priority resolution, recruitment, onboarding, and personnel development.
  • Review technical content, procurement strategies, design criteria, engineering guides, instructions, and project deliverables.
  • Mentor engineers and drive improvements in work processes, technical adequacy, safety, and quality.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of nuclear industry experience and a B.S. in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or another relevant technical discipline; an M.S. or Ph.D. with commensurate experience is also accepted.
  • At least 2 years in a combined technical leadership role involving project technical scope and management responsibilities.
  • Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII and/or Section III.
  • At least 3,000 hours of CAD experience; SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing according to ASME Y14.5M.
  • Ability to manage concurrent tasks, communicate effectively, work independently, and solve challenging technical problems.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the relevant discipline, power industry, or another highly regulated industry.
  • FEA experience with ANSYS, SW Simulation, or ABAQUS.
