What you will do

  • Support licensing applications, regulatory reports, amendment requests, and license renewal submissions in compliance with NRC requirements.
  • Communicate with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and track the timely resolution of regulatory inquiries.
  • Help develop and implement strategies to obtain and maintain licenses for nuclear facilities and projects.
  • Perform technical evaluations and support safety analyses, environmental reports, and risk assessments under senior engineer guidance.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on operations and licensing.
  • Prepare technical documentation, participate in inspections and regulatory meetings, and collaborate with engineering, operations, legal, and environmental teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field, either recently completed or expected soon.
  • Coursework in nuclear engineering fundamentals, reactor physics, or fuel cycle systems.
  • General familiarity with NRC regulations, 10 CFR, and related standards such as ANSI and ASME.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Internship experience in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, or another technical role involving nuclear or highly regulated facilities.
  • Exceptional prior projects, completed products, or other evidence of technical ability.
  • Familiarity with nuclear facility operations and safety analyses.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies such as the NRC.
