Physical Therapist (Outpatient Orthopedic)

Location: Onsite in Hartford, CT; the role is based in Connecticut and scheduled for two daytime days per week, generally Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Salary: $92,000–$153,400 USD annually, depending on experience and geographic location, plus eligibility for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Deliver evidence-based outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in a collaborative workplace health center.
• Evaluate patients, create individualized treatment plans, and prescribe exercises, stretches, and self-care programs.
• Track treatment outcomes, maintain detailed clinical records, and communicate with onsite, telephonic, and community referral sources.
• Improve patients’ range of motion, strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance while helping reduce reliance on medication and surgery.
• Develop injury-prevention, health-promotion, and ergonomic programs, including workstation body-mechanics education.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, health coaches, safety officers, ergonomists, human resources, vendors, and community providers.

Requirements

• DPT, or MPT earned before 2016.
• Active Connecticut Physical Therapist license required.
• At least three years of experience in an outpatient physical therapy or ambulatory care clinic, including required outpatient orthopedic experience.
• Knowledge of standard physical therapy modalities, including electrical stimulation and therapeutic ultrasound.
• Knowledge of internet and word-processing software.
• EPIC electronic medical records experience and knowledge of workplace health, safety, and OSHA regulations are preferred.

Nice to have

• Current AHA or ARC Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers, or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
