Physical Therapist (Inpatient) - Per Diem (Healthcare)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus and Saints Campus, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Travel between hospitals is required when needed. Per diem 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of two weekend shifts per month and one holiday per year.

Salary: $44.17–$56.32 per hour.

What you will do

• Evaluate, re-evaluate, and treat pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general inpatient populations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using therapeutic exercise, physical modalities, and other physical therapy techniques.
• Assess pain and treatment outcomes, adjust plans of care, and support patients in achieving maximum functional ability.
• Document patient care in medical records, complete chart reviews, and follow billing and reimbursement requirements.
• Coach and mentor staff therapists, contribute to performance assessments, and coordinate student programs and staff education.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, coverage issues, departmental operations, Joint Commission preparation, and continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and graduation from an approved school of Physical Therapy.
• Current Physical Therapy license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least eight years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Advanced knowledge of physical modalities, therapeutic exercise, treatment techniques, patient assessment, and care-plan adjustment.
• Ability to work with patients of all age groups, including those with acute and long-term disabilities, and to lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; availability for weekend and holiday coverage is required.
