Process Improvement Leader (Petrochemical)

Location: Underwood Dr, Pasadena, Texas, United States; full-time site-based role with inside and outside plant activities.

What you will do

• Lead the technical team responsible for process optimization, process design, process control, and continuous improvement.
• Develop safety, operability, growth, energy-efficiency, and variable-cost projects for EO and EOD production units.
• Lead front-end process design, including heat and material balances, process modelling, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and capital requests.
• Safeguard process safety as the lead operations representative by coordinating HAZOP, ESD/SIL, MOC, incident investigations, alarm management, and operating-envelope reviews.
• Optimize catalysts, utilities, unit controls, process-monitoring tools, and operating assets including reactors, flares, steam systems, compressors, and distillation systems.
• Coach technical professionals, align operations and engineering stakeholders, and track reliability, process, energy, and variable-cost KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• Six to ten years of experience in chemical or petrochemical engineering and/or manufacturing, including process design and process-unit optimization.
• Strong knowledge of unit operations, heat and material balances, hydraulics, heat transfer, distillation and separation systems, and process optimization.
• Experience with process-modelling software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, or an equivalent tool.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, prioritize, and delegate work for technical professionals and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to support SHEQ compliance and work in environments involving chemicals, gases, high temperatures, noise, moving equipment, and inside/outside conditions.
