What you will do

• Improve Surfacing department grooming workflows and techniques by troubleshooting tool and pipeline issues.
• Collaborate with Rigging, Animation, and CFX departments to support production requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to production teams.
• Participate in tools, pipeline, and workflow meetings and interpret feedback effectively.
• Maintain documentation for tool development and studio protocols.

Requirements

• Professional experience in animated feature films.
• Strong understanding of animation department workflows and their place in the wider production pipeline.
• Understanding of how animation tools support production workflows.
• Ability to communicate with both non-technical animators and highly technical production technology teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and aesthetic judgment.
• Ability to collaborate globally and respond to feedback in a timely, high-quality manner.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of rigging workflows and USD in animation pipelines.
• Experience with Houdini, Yeti, or XGen and grooming software.
• Python, MEL, or similar scripting experience.
• Knowledge of Linux, 3D modelling, texturing, rendering, or CFX.
• Generalist experience.
