Unreal CG Supervisor (Unreal Engine): Leading the technical and artistic creation of real-time 3D content, virtual production, and visual effects for an animated Unreal project with an accent on real-time pipelines, scene setup, shading, lighting, and Blueprints. Focus on designing Maya-to-Unreal workflows, debugging performance-intensive scenes, solving pipeline challenges, and coordinating creative and technical delivery across departments.
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia. Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2025 and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Remote work is available within BC; candidates in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland may also choose hybrid or in-studio work.
Pay range: $2,200–$2,750 CAD per week for Vancouver and British Columbia.

What you will do
- Lead the technical and artistic creation of real-time 3D content, virtual production, and visual effects using Unreal Engine.
- Design and maintain real-time and hybrid pipelines connecting Maya and other DCC tools with Unreal.
- Oversee scene setup, asset importing, material and shader design, real-time lighting, and external tools or plugins.
- Use Unreal Blueprints to build custom tools, interactive features, and efficient production workflows.
- Profile, debug, and troubleshoot scenes to maintain frame rates and real-time performance budgets.
- Coordinate with clients, show TDs, pipeline support, department leaders, and stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver episodes on schedule.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a CG Supervisor on an animated series or feature using Unreal Engine.
- Advanced Unreal Engine proficiency, including rendering, shading, sequencing, and Blueprints.
- Strong working knowledge of Unreal, Maya, Katana, Houdini, and Nuke within 3D production pipelines.
- Team leadership, mentoring, communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and residence in British Columbia as of December 31, 2025 are required.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of RenderMan or Arnold and experience writing or understanding code for tool and pipeline R&D.
- Experience with Flow, formerly ShotGrid, for production tracking, submissions, and publishing.
- Prior senior or supervisory experience in another capacity or department.
