TL;DR
Associate Actuary (IFRS 17 Reporting) (IFRS 17 and U.S. GAAP): Preparing actuarial financial reports, FMI packages, management insights, and analyses of insurance business performance with an accent on financial reporting, valuation, and cross-functional analysis. Focus on explaining financial result drivers, developing reporting exhibits, supporting GAAP methodology implementation, and addressing complex actuarial reporting issues.

Location: Hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office in Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Denver, United States

Salary: $128,000–$165,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus of 15%.

What you will do

  • Prepare actuarial reports, financial analyses, and management insights covering financial results, persistency, mortality, morbidity, reinsurance, and economic impacts.
  • Lead preparation of the IFRS 17 Financial Management Information package, including exhibits, narratives, commentary, and responses to follow-up questions.
  • Collaborate with valuation, investments, Asset Liability Management, and business partners across life, health, and annuity products.
  • Develop and maintain reporting exhibits and analytics that communicate business results and trends.
  • Support U.S. GAAP reporting, methodology development, and implementation activities.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex reporting and valuation issues and represent the organization with industry groups and regulators when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a related quantitative field, plus 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience; a relevant master’s degree with 4+ years may be considered.
  • FSA or equivalent designation preferred. ASA or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience may be considered instead.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance financial reporting, valuation, and actuarial analysis.
  • Advanced mathematical and analytical concepts must be communicated clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership, judgment, organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work in the office Tuesday through Thursday at one of the listed U.S. hub locations; relocation assistance is not provided.
