Health Actuary

Location: Remote

Salary: $112,100–$225,500 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance bonus.

What you will do

• Provide health actuarial consulting on client engagements.
• Support financial examinations, rate filing reviews, special studies, and research projects.
• Apply health rating, underwriting, pricing, financial modeling, risk management, and reinsurance concepts.
• Analyze complex information, identify inconsistencies, and produce accurate work products.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, priorities, and multiple assignments.
• Prepare clear analyses, reports, presentations, and client deliverables for technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or Statistics.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a state insurance department, health insurance company, financial services organization, or consulting firm.
• Strong knowledge of actuarial concepts, analytical methods, organization, and written communication.
• Experience using presentation, spreadsheet, and project-planning software.
• Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly and accurately.
• Ethical and professional conduct consistent with firm standards.

Nice to have

• ASA, FSA, or MAAA designation.
• Consulting or regulatory experience.
• Affordable Care Act experience, particularly ACA pricing.
• Experience with Medicare Supplement products.
• Visual Basic, Excel, R/RStudio, Python, or related application experience.
