Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment

Location: US - TX - Corpus Christi; plant facility in Ingleside, TX. On-site plant support is required, including shift/weekend coverage for start-ups, tests, turnarounds, and other non-routine needs. Travel is less than 15%.

Salary: $90,091–$140,767 annually, plus a 6% annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Provide mechanical engineering guidance for operating equipment, facilities, troubleshooting, maintenance, and modifications.
• Support operations, maintenance, and technology teams with technical troubleshooting and training.
• Provide mechanical expertise for projects, new installations, modified facilities, specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance.
• Lead process safety criticality assessments and manage mechanical integrity and quality assurance activities, including spare parts, SAP data, inspection plans, and maintenance procedures.
• Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend reliability and lifecycle-cost improvements.
• Lead and participate in safety, reliability, quality, root-cause, FMEA, maintenance, and reliability investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 2 years of related industrial or manufacturing experience with rotating equipment; relevant internships or co-op experience may count.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, alignment techniques, materials selection, lubrication, tribology, pumps, performance curves, and API mechanical seal plans.
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems using data-based decisions and to communicate effectively across organizational levels.
• Experience supporting operations troubleshooting with technical resources or field personnel, managing multiple priorities, emergencies, and short deadlines.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, and respirators.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of mechanical engineering experience focused on rotating equipment.
• Maintenance and reliability best practices, oil analysis, vibration analysis, nondestructive testing, and industrial compressors or refrigeration equipment.
• Root-cause failure analysis, FMEA, statistical data interpretation, failure evidence preservation, engineering design standards, and cost or capital analysis.
• Strong Process Safety Management background, SAP experience, and Lean maintenance methodology experience.
