Customer Reliability Engineer or Technical Specialist

Location: Decatur, Alabama, USA; on-site at a customer facility

Salary: USD 78,000–110,000 per year

What you will do

• Evaluate customer applications involving mechanical seals and rotating equipment and recommend improvements to mean time between repairs.
• Direct the installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and auxiliary support systems.
• Collect and analyze customer data and report seal program results using reliability management software such as ServiceMax.
• Maintain equipment surveys and provide technical counseling, recommendations, and assistance to customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Train customer maintenance and operations personnel and support Management of Change activities.
• Lead one or more customer reliability personnel when required and communicate technical findings through reports and presentations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience with mechanical seals, rotating equipment, and basic engineering principles.
• Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office, and machining practices.
• Experience with continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen, SMED, Lean, or equivalent methods.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work flexible hours including weekends, and travel as needed.
• Strong training, leadership, communication, facilitation, influencing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Experience working in a diverse environment with a global company.
• Understanding of the financial aspects of manufacturing operations.
