Rotating Equipment Co-op/Intern (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, United States; field work in an operating plant environment is required

What you will do

• Monitor and report the condition and performance of pumps, compressors, turbines, and related rotating equipment using vibration analysis, oil analysis, and process data.
• Support the Mechanical Integrity program by maintaining rotating equipment documentation and records.
• Investigate equipment failures and help develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Review and update maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist with maintenance planning and execution during routine work and plant shutdowns.
• Gather technical information, perform basic engineering calculations, present findings, and coordinate documentation changes through the Management of Change process.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or related program at an ABET-accredited institution.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to perform field work in an operating plant environment.
• Availability for a summer internship or a 7–8 month co-op assignment.

Nice to have

• Previous co-op or internship experience.
• Experience with condition monitoring.
