EHS Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas, United States of America; active presence in service environments, local shipyards, and FMA facilities. 50% travel required.

What you will do

• Conduct, facilitate, and document safety training for new hires and technicians.
• Manage annual compliance training, maintain training records, and verify technician qualifications.
• Conduct site visits and safety audits at service facilities and local shipyards.
• Coordinate OSHA drills, including fire and tornado exercises, and support Safety Champions with documentation.
• Report work-related incidents, track safety opportunities, and review safety trends with the EHS Manager.
• Maintain safety procedures and documentation using Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Practical knowledge of OSHA regulations and basic math skills.
• Experience delivering training through visual presentations and documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Computer proficiency, including the ability to learn and use Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work around moving equipment, wear required PPE, climb ladders and stairs, and stand or move for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Health, and Safety or an equivalent qualification.
• Good mechanical aptitude and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
