Safety Specialist I

Location: Sparks, Nevada, United States; onsite work across office, manufacturing, and outdoor environments.

What you will do

• Support the development, implementation, and management of health, safety, and environmental policies and programs.
• Conduct safety inspections, site audits, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic evaluations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide HSE training and guidance to employees and participate in safety committee activities.
• Maintain inspection, incident, training, evacuation, and emergency response records.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HSE regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0–2 years of related experience; four years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, including EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations.
• Experience conducting job hazard analyses, site audits, and incident root cause analyses.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency with data capture, analytics, spreadsheets, presentations, and HSE-related software.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or defense environments.
• Training or credentials in fall protection, laser safety, radiation safety, PIT or MEWP safety, lockout/tagout, or NFPA 70E.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001.
• ASP, CSP, or OHST certification.
