EHS Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: West Caldwell, New Jersey, United States; onsite in a manufacturing environment

Salary: $89,200–$106,400 per year

What you will do

• Implement and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, programs, permits, and regulatory documentation.
• Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, ergonomic evaluations, storm-water inspections, emergency supply checks, and routine site checks.
• Plan and deliver new-hire safety orientation, hazardous materials communication, EH&S training, and industrial hygiene assessments.
• Manage hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, inspections, transportation, disposal, and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes, advise management on safety improvements, and participate in the Emergency Response Team.
• Support cross-functional EH&S initiatives and additional assignments from management.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant environmental, health, and safety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering/Health, or Occupational Safety and Health.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Basic understanding of industrial chemicals and their properties.
• Proficiency with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Only US Persons may be considered where access to controlled data or information is required under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, Emergency Response, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, DOT, HAZWOPER, ASP, CPE, CEPS, CIH, or CHMM.
