Plant Manager - Wind

Location: Encino, New Mexico, United States — El Cabo Wind

Base salary: $131,000–$145,800 per year, depending on experience and location.

What you will do

• Manage daily operations and maintenance of a utility-scale wind power plant.
• Develop and administer operating budgets, including annual budgets and monthly profit-and-loss reporting.
• Coordinate outages and scheduling with the interconnect entity, scheduling coordinator, and trading desk.
• Lead crews performing operations, maintenance, warranty activities, and work on wind plant equipment.
• Manage third-party contracts, warranties, capital improvement programs, and retrofits.
• Review root cause analyses of major failures and maintain internal controls.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree, technical school certificate, five years of related experience, power industry training, or an equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Ability to climb 80-meter steel towers daily and work around low- and medium-voltage equipment in adverse weather conditions.
• Weight must not exceed 285 lbs, excluding equipment and gear, when performing job-related tasks.
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, crane and rigging requirements, and a valid driver's license.

Nice to have

• Wind plant and wind turbine operations experience.
• High-voltage maintenance and switching experience.
• Experience establishing or improving preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization and collaborating with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
