Chief Medical Officer for Tufts Medicine Behavioral Health Hospital

Salary: $320,000–$375,000 annually

hirify.global is an integrated academic health system in Massachusetts partnering with Acadia Healthcare to operate a 144-bed behavioral health hospital and support clinical education.

What you will do

• Provide clinical leadership and oversee the quality, efficiency, safety, and management of medical services.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and procedures aligned with evidence-based behavioral health care and regulatory standards.
• Lead, recruit, mentor, and supervise psychiatrists, medical staff, advanced practice providers, and other clinical personnel.
• Oversee credentialing, privileging, professional practice evaluations, utilization review, clinical resources, and medical staff operations.
• Collaborate with the CEO, hirify.global leadership, academic partners, and external stakeholders on strategic planning, referral networks, and outpatient program expansion.
• Lead patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution and an active Massachusetts medical license.
• Board certification in Psychiatry or a relevant behavioral health specialty.
• At least 10 years of clinical experience, including 5 years in a behavioral health leadership role such as CMO or Medical Director.
• Experience with medical staff leadership, hospital operations, strategic planning, behavioral health regulations, quality improvement, and risk management.
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions in Massachusetts.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire.

Nice to have

• Experience in an academic medical center or teaching hospital.
• Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
