Remote Behavioral Medical Director, Central Region

Salary: $236,500–$449,300 per year

What you will do

• Assist the Chief Medical Director in directing medical management, utilization management, quality improvement, and credentialing functions.
• Perform medical reviews for complex, controversial, experimental, unusual, or new services and determine medical necessity and appropriate payment.
• Lead or support quality and cost-containment initiatives for capitated providers, including utilization studies and analysis of adverse trends.
• Conduct rounds for high-risk patients and coordinate care with care management teams to improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, providers, appeals teams, and medical and pharmacy consultants on complex cases and medical-necessity appeals.
• Support physician committees, provider education, network development, market expansion, and state or ad hoc committees.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
• Active medical practice and current MD or DO state licensure without restrictions, limitations, or sanctions from government programs.
• Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Utilization management experience and knowledge of quality accreditation standards are preferred.
• Experience treating or managing care for culturally diverse populations is preferred.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays when needed to support business operations.

Nice to have

• Certification in Child Psychiatry.
• Coursework in health administration, health financing, insurance, or personnel management.
