Behavioral Health Medical Director

Location: Remote Louisiana, United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $223,800–$313,100 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Develop and support behavioral health care strategy, operations, procedures, productivity targets, and delivery models.
• Determine whether requested services, levels of care, and sites of service should be authorized using clinical judgment and evidence-based resources.
• Apply Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid requirements in daily medical management work.
• Support quality-of-care, utilization, financial, and regulatory compliance goals.
• Collaborate with external physicians, physician groups, facilities, community groups, and care management teams on regional priorities.
• Contribute to value-based care, population health, disease management, and hirify.global’s Bold Goal mission.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• At least five years of direct clinical patient care experience after residency or fellowship, preferably including inpatient care or Medicare/Medicaid populations.
• Current and ongoing board certification in an approved ABMS medical or ABPN specialty.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in at least one jurisdiction and willingness to obtain additional licenses if required.
• No current federal or state government sanctions and ability to pass credentialing requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, interpretation, and experience in quality, utilization, case management, discharge planning, home health, or post-acute services.

Nice to have

• Managed care, health insurance, hospital, integrated delivery system, or clinical group practice management experience.
• Utilization management review experience in Medicare Advantage, managed Medicaid, or commercial insurance.
• Experience with MCG or InterQual guidelines.
• Clinical background in psychiatry, internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics, hospitalist, or emergency medicine.
• Advanced degree such as an MBA, MHA, or MPH, with exposure to public health, population health, analytics, or business metrics.
