Senior Manager Engineering Firmware (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop firmware and embedded software engineers.
• Set technical direction, standards, architecture, and design practices for embedded controllers.
• Guide C and C++ application firmware development, including communication interfaces, control algorithms, and product features.
• Direct firmware verification through test specifications, laboratory and on-product testing, and HIL/SIL integration.
• Coordinate capacity, resource allocation, planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery across multiple projects.
• Partner with hardware, systems engineering, product management, test, and platform teams to define interfaces, requirements, and control algorithms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of embedded firmware and software development experience using languages such as C, C++, and C#.
• At least 3 years of engineering team leadership experience; direct people management is strongly preferred.
• Experience taking embedded products from concept through production.
• Expertise in embedded systems, microprocessors, microcontrollers, communication protocols, hardware interfaces, firmware architecture, and design decisions.
• Advanced experience with FMEA, DFMEA, Design for Test, Design for Manufacturability, simulation tools, PC-based test tools, and component-level troubleshooting.
