What you will do
- Lead the site-wide Safety, Health, Environmental and Security strategy, systems, performance, and culture.
- Manage Process Safety Management programs, including process safety information, management of change, PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, mechanical integrity, and safe work systems.
- Oversee environmental compliance, permitting, emissions, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, reporting, audits, and regulatory relationships.
- Direct occupational safety, industrial hygiene, PPE, workforce protection, training, injury and illness tracking, and contractor safety programs.
- Maintain emergency response plans, drills, Emergency Operations Center readiness, site security, and MTSA/FSO backup responsibilities.
- Lead the SHE team, manage operating and capital budgets, develop KPIs, and advise site leadership on risk and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, occupational safety and health, environmental science, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of chemical or petrochemical manufacturing experience with SHE compliance and performance responsibilities.
- Extensive experience with PSM, RMP, incident investigation, root cause analysis, MOC, PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, mechanical integrity, and major hazard risk management.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, DOT hazardous materials regulations, and USCG MTSA requirements.
- Experience with environmental permitting, industrial hygiene, audits, emergency response, ICS, emergency drills, and contract service management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP or similar systems, with strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
