Location: Underwood Dr, Pasadena, Texas; support for facilities in Bayport, Texas and Plaquemine, Louisiana

What you will do

  • Drive site-wide environmental compliance programs, regulatory training, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop air permits and calculations for NSR, Title V, NSPS, NESHAP, MACT, MSS, LDAR, and related Texas and federal programs.
  • Lead control-device performance testing, notifications, final reports, environmental audits, and regulatory submissions to TCEQ and EPA.
  • Engage with TCEQ, EPA, local agencies, community organizations, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex compliance issues.
  • Support air, waste, and water compliance, including RCRA hazardous waste, TPDES, wastewater, DMR, TRI, SARA Tier 2, emission inventories, and air dispersion modeling.
  • Support projects, management-of-change reviews, turnarounds, incident investigations, emergency response, and environmental performance reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 7 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical facility or refinery.
  • Demonstrated experience securing environmental permits and approvals in Texas, with knowledge of federal, Texas, and chemical-sector regulations.
  • Experience interfacing directly with state or federal regulatory agencies and conducting advanced manufacturing audits.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor plant environments with exposure to heat, cold, noise, chemicals, fumes, gases, and other industrial hazards.

Nice to have

  • Formal investigation lead training, DOT HAZMAT training under 49 CFR 172.704, industrial emergency response, incident management, and RCRA hazardous waste management training.
  • Experience with Toxchem, Breeze, advanced spreadsheets, and environmental data software.
  • Media non-spokesman training.
