Field Safety Specialist (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Bay Street, Texas City, Texas, United States; up to 80% of the role is spent in the field.

hirify.global Olefins & Polymers USA operates a chemical manufacturing site where the role supports safety and health programs.

What you will do

• Implement and administer site safety, health, emergency response, and behavioral safety programs.
• Provide daily support for work permits and safety-related questions.
• Conduct or coordinate safety audits, inspections, testing, monitoring, and maintenance of safety equipment and facilities.
• Oversee contractor safety and compliance with respiratory protection and fall protection programs.
• Respond to plant emergencies, report incidents, and support cause analysis and investigations.
• Test workplaces for hazards, improve conditions, communicate best practices, and contribute to personal safety budget management.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, including specialist safety, industrial hygiene, or other progressively responsible safety experience.
• Must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card before the first day of employment.
• Must hold a valid U.S. motor vehicle license and be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Knowledge of safety and health processes, legislation, and applicable standards.
• Ability to obtain Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician certification and Competent Person training for safety shower and fall-protection inspections.
