Safety Manager

What you will do

• Lead strategic planning, development, maintenance, and implementation of occupational safety, industrial hygiene, radiation safety, and health programs for the Southeast Region Products Pipelines business unit.
• Ensure compliance with federal and applicable state OSHA regulations, internal procedures, and other health and safety requirements.
• Drive safety culture improvements, safety initiatives, training programs, safety metrics, incident tracking, and corrective actions.
• Support facilities, Safety Coordinators, construction and engineering projects, emergency response, fire protection, and contractor safety activities.
• Participate in incident investigations, EHS audits, emergency drills, regulatory inspections, and agency reporting.
• Serve as Radiation Safety Officer and maintain radiation safety plans, registrations, licenses, and inspection readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
• 10+ years of experience and industry knowledge may determine the job level.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, or SMP are preferred.
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management, Root Cause Analysis, and ICS Emergency Response is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Strong leadership, planning, organizational, communication, collaboration, and independent working skills.

• Onsite, field-oriented work supporting pipeline facilities across the Southeast Region and other business unit regions.
• Work may include outdoor activities in adverse weather, construction sites, heavy equipment areas, rough terrain, trenches, and confined spaces.
• Extensive travel may be required, including overnight stays for several days.
• Participation in after-hours callouts and emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Availability during working and non-working hours is required with a company-provided cell phone.
