What you will do

  • Design, develop, and deliver technical training for natural gas distribution and transmission operations, maintenance, construction, and emergency response.
  • Create lesson plans, presentations, assessments, hands-on exercises, simulations, and other training materials.
  • Deliver classroom, field-based, virtual, and blended learning programs for employees and contractors.
  • Manage training schedules, resources, equipment, and documentation in the company’s learning management systems.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and training effectiveness through feedback, field observations, coaching, mentoring, and post-training assessments.
  • Partner with Gas Operations, Engineering, Safety, subject matter experts, and management to support operational safety, compliance, and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the natural gas industry or another relevant technical trade.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated training experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, instructional design, or a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of natural gas properties, pipeline construction and maintenance, gas safety regulations, 49 CFR Parts 191, 192, and 193, and Massachusetts 220 CMR.
  • Knowledge of Operator Qualification programs and associated written plans, with the ability to obtain Operator Qualification tasks.
  • Ability to design and conduct effective training, present complex technical concepts, and manage the learning environment.

  • Completed apprenticeship or other relevant trade qualifications.
  • Strong mentoring, leadership, written communication, and oral communication skills.
