Staff Engineer – Electrical Engineering

Location: Hybrid, with 2–3 days per week onsite in Kohler, Wisconsin, United States

Salary: $98,900–$125,600 per year

What you will do

• Lead parts of new product development from concept validation through design for manufacturing of analog, digital, RF, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Define electrical hardware requirements, specifications, and system architecture in collaboration with hardware, software, and product teams.
• Create and conduct functional, environmental, and lifecycle validation plans to verify reliability and performance.
• Support product safety, EMC, environmental compliance, hardware reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, and other laboratory tools to analyze, debug, and document electronic circuits and systems.
• Develop project tasks, timelines, and budgets while mentoring less experienced electrical engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience, depending on educational background.
• Experience collaborating with or leading technical teams developing electrical hardware.
• Experience with circuit capture and PCB design tools such as OrCAD, and with circuit modeling and simulation tools such as PSpice.
• Experience with wireless systems, ideally BLE, Wi-Fi, ISM, and LTE, plus working knowledge of microcontrollers, microprocessors, memory, ADCs, and communications technologies.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing and end-of-line test systems.
• Experience with radio compliance, FCC/IC, PTCRB, protocol-specific certifications, and international compliance specifications.
• Experience with power-system controls and embedded C/C++ software for board bring-up and testing.
