TL;DR
Electrical Engineer III (Aerospace) (Electronic Hardware): Designing and validating electronic hardware, circuits, and assemblies for aerospace systems with an accent on high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, and communication-interface design. Focus on prototype board bring-up, verification and validation testing, anomaly resolution, and supporting integration through flight qualification.

Location: Louisville, Colorado; must be local to the work location. Flexible for occasional telework.

Salary: $84,362.83–$146,690.59 annually.

What you will do

  • Design and develop electronic hardware, circuits, schematics, and assemblies from concept through verification.
  • Create models and prototypes, perform product testing, and execute verification and validation plans.
  • Develop board bring-up procedures, debug prototype and production boards, and investigate hardware anomalies.
  • Support manufacturing, installation, operation, maintenance, integration, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve product capability and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and travel periodically for customer meetings, integration, and testing.

Requirements

  • BS with 5–7 years, MS with 3–5 years, or PhD with 0–2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with electronic hardware requirements, architecture, schematics, component selection, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, and CAN communication interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype development, debugging, board bring-up, PCB layout considerations, and wire harness design.
  • Experience with hardware qualification, anomaly resolution, ESD controls, and cleanroom operations; periodic travel is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft, payload, avionics, or aerospace electronics and spacecraft electrical architectures.
  • Experience with spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test, EGSE, simulators, or command and control systems.
  • Experience with RF systems, antenna integration, battery-powered systems, SPICE, reliability, worst-case, or radiation-effects analysis.
  • Familiarity with embedded firmware development in C and test automation or analysis scripts using Python or MATLAB.
