Associate Director, AI Governance (AI)

Location: Hybrid role for candidates local to the Boston, MA or Hingham, MA offices

Salary: $158,600–$193,800 annually, plus potential variable pay

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end AI governance operations, including intake, triage, risk tiering, review coordination, approvals, decision logging, action tracking, and closure.
• Build repeatable governance workflows, templates, checklists, documentation standards, and evidence requirements.
• Maintain the enterprise inventory of AI use cases and systems, including ownership, risk classification, controls, and governance status.
• Coordinate forums and decisions across Risk, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement, Security, the AI Center of Excellence, and delivery teams.
• Oversee governance for third-party and vendor-enabled AI throughout design, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Define operational KPIs, deliver executive briefings, and provide AI governance training, playbooks, and office hours.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of AI governance operations and frameworks, with experience in AI, model, risk, or compliance governance within regulated environments.
• 10+ years of experience in AI, analytics and data science, AI governance, or related roles.
• 5+ years of healthcare industry experience and 5+ years of leadership and people management experience.
• Experience managing blended teams of full-time employees and contractors.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML and generative AI across the full lifecycle, including design, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Knowledge of healthcare data domains and experience with cloud AI stacks such as Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, plus governance and workflow platforms.
