Environmental Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Manage site environmental programs covering air, waste management, wastewater, stormwater, EPCRA, and SPCC requirements.
• Support monitoring, inspections, recordkeeping, regulatory reporting, permit tracking, and corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance to Site Leadership, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
• Evaluate projects, process changes, and operational modifications for environmental applicability and permitting needs.
• Develop compliance trackers and tools, analyze environmental data, and maintain audit-ready records.
• Participate in internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience as an environmental engineer or environmental professional in a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated facility.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Working knowledge of LRAPA, Oregon DEQ, and federal environmental regulations across multiple media.
• Strong knowledge of air compliance and permitting, plus practical wastewater permitting and compliance experience.
• Familiarity with waste management, stormwater, EPCRA, SPCC, environmental reporting, spreadsheets, data tracking, and compliance management systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in chemical manufacturing and environmental regulatory reporting, including Tier II, TRI, emissions, wastewater, or stormwater reports.
• Experience with regulatory inspections, audits, agency interactions, capital projects, process changes, or management of change activities.
• SAP experience or experience with similar enterprise systems.
