Counsel - Technology (Cybersecurity)

Location: New York City, NY; onsite position

Salary: $113,000–$195,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Advise MSG Entertainment, Sphere, and affiliates on IT, software licensing, internet and mobile applications, connectivity, intellectual property, virtual and augmented reality, and other digital technology initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements covering IT services, software development and licensing, SaaS, cloud platforms, managed services, telecommunications, consulting, payment systems, and enterprise software.
• Advise business units on data security, cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, social media, mobile applications, and related technology risks.
• Review and negotiate enterprise-wide data processing agreements, NDAs, terms of use, data protection policies, and technology-related internal policies.
• Research legal issues, interpret contractual rights and obligations, and provide practical, business-oriented guidance to IT, Procurement, Information Security, and other internal clients.
• Support the broader legal department, special projects, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Law degree and admission to practice law in New York State.
• 3–5 years of legal practice experience independently handling complex contractual and information technology matters.
• Knowledge of technology regulations, commercial law, and related legal best practices.
• Excellent contract drafting, interpretation, analysis, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying and prioritizing legal and business risks.
• Flexible, creative, and business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
