Content Producer (Political News)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; daily in-office work required

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience

hirify.global produces and distributes news content through local television stations, streaming CTV platforms, NewsNation, and The Hill.

What you will do

• Produce and execute live and recorded streaming programs for broadcast, digital, and CTV platforms.
• Monitor news developments, political calendars, press conferences, interviews, and daily events.
• Write, edit, and publish scripts, video packages, long-form content, and other news materials.
• Route live feeds, ingest video, and distribute content to Nexstar stations, websites, apps, CTV, and social media.
• Develop story ideas, research information, and coordinate interviews with lawmakers, analysts, and other newsmakers.
• Field-produce special coverage, including live shots and interviews, while coordinating with newsroom staff and Nexstar partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in political, government, broadcast, or digital news, including prior news-producing experience.
• Strong writing, editing, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with non-linear editing systems and digital news-gathering tools such as OBS, vMix, and CMS platforms.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple assignments, and work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to lift and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with live streaming and CTV production.
• Knowledge of Capitol Hill, federal agencies, and political processes.
• Experience covering Washington, DC or a state capitol.
