Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States

Salary: $62,200–$83,300 per year, with potential bonus and/or long-term incentive units.

What you will do

• Produce and manage daily newscasts, overseeing editorial and production elements.
• Write clear, compelling broadcast copy and use live elements and newsroom resources effectively.
• Pitch and develop story ideas aligned with local news strategy.
• Collaborate with anchors, reporters, assignment editors, writers, directors, graphic artists, and digital teams.
• Execute shows in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle last-minute changes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience at a local television news station.
• Strong editorial judgment, storytelling skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure newsroom.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varied and non-traditional hours.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent newsroom experience.
• Advanced degree.
