Senior Manager, Engineering

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work under the Flex persona

Salary: $163,800–$200,200 per year, plus eligibility for variable pay

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and coach engineering teams responsible for the MyBlue member portal and mobile applications.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for the Digital platform.
• Architect, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and secure web and mobile features.
• Partner with product management, UX/UI design, and business stakeholders to shape the platform roadmap and member experience.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle using agile methodologies, including deployment and maintenance.
• Manage operational excellence, incident response, monitoring, performance, budgets, resources, timelines, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a management or technical leadership role.
• Hands-on experience architecting and delivering mobile and/or web applications using technologies such as Angular, React Native, REST APIs, Apigee, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with agile practices, web and mobile testing, deployment, configuration management, DevSecOps, and secure infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS or other secure public and private cloud environments, PaaS, and modern web technologies.
• Technical experience with Android Native, iOS Native, Drupal, Akamai or F5, Confluent Kafka, relational and NoSQL databases, performance testing, observability, Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch, and BrowserStack.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus strong communication, leadership, analytical, and business skills.
