Manager, Theatre Technical

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas, United States; on-site technical support is required for events and productions, including extended hours, nights, and weekends.

What you will do

• Lead technical support for lighting, video, sound, and staging requirements across Performing Arts Center events and productions.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, rental clients, production personnel, and guest artists to define and deliver technical requirements.
• Supervise technical event specialists and student technicians, including scheduling, training, mentorship, and event coverage.
• Oversee routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment replacement recommendations, and lifecycle management for lighting, video, and audio assets.
• Manage event setup and teardown, including stages, furniture, risers, pipe and drape, lobby areas, and greenrooms.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, patching, signal flow, and equipment inventory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience, or an approved combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful completion of a criminal history investigation and credential verification is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a higher education or K-12 environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre or a related Performing Arts or Education discipline.
