Director, Software Engineering (AI)

Location: Hybrid office environment, Tuesday through Thursday, in Denver, Cedar Rapids, or Philadelphia; frequent travel of 25–50% may be required.

Salary: $190,000–$225,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead development teams delivering enterprise web and cloud solutions across multiple lines of business.
• Define web, cloud, architecture, and technology strategies in partnership with executives, business leaders, and enterprise architecture.
• Translate strategic priorities into delivery plans, milestones, budgets, and technology goals.
• Oversee quality, performance, cost, scope, service levels, and delivery for cloud and web initiatives.
• Evaluate third-party frameworks, open-source libraries, and APIs to accelerate agile delivery.
• Coach and develop staff, provide performance feedback, and mentor current and future technical leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience with database design, modern distributed applications, and microservices.
• At least 8 years delivering large-scale design projects across enterprise operational functions.
• At least 6 years managing diverse teams and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong experience with DevOps methodologies, continuous integration and delivery, architecture, strategy, and vendor management.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship or employer-of-record immigration arrangements.

Nice to have

• 10 years of experience in banking and/or life insurance.
• Experience leading large-scale AI engineering organizations and enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
• Expertise building scalable, accessible, high-performance interfaces with modern frameworks, design systems, and component-based development.
• Experience applying AI, GenAI, and emerging technologies to improve user experiences and developer productivity.
