Lab Analyst (Chemistry)

Location: Green Lake Facility, Port Lavaca, Texas, United States; onsite role with rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

What you will do

• Analyze and report on plant products and process streams at different stages of synthesis.
• Collect samples, prepare solutions and reagents, communicate results, and coordinate laboratory sample shipments.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative testing using chromatography, spectroscopy, pH and other analytical methods.
• Maintain, calibrate, and perform quality assurance checks on laboratory instruments and the laboratory environment.
• Record calculations, results, trends, and analytical verifications in LIMS and laboratory documentation.
• Work with laboratory, operations, instrumentation, shipping, and chemistry personnel to resolve analytical and operational issues safely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of experience in a chemical laboratory or advanced science education.
• Strong written and oral communication, computational, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and LIMS is desired.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and perform weekend, holiday, and overtime assignments.
• Ability to use self-contained breathing apparatus, climb ladders and stairs, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and safely evacuate the facility.

Nice to have

• Experience with gas and liquid chromatography, HPLC, UV spectrophotometry, pH, turbidity and conductivity meters, and auto-titrators.
• Knowledge of atomic absorption, manual wet chemistry, oxygen bomb analyzers, and Hach meters and methods.
