Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C++)

Location: Farmingdale, New York, United States. Onsite support for the Radar and Surveillance team; U.S. citizenship is required for DoD Secret Clearance eligibility.

Salary: $122,655–$215,704 per year, with a possible annual or quarterly bonus. Alternative shifts may include a shift premium.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, test, and debug embedded software using modern C++, embedded Linux, PetaLinux, and RTOS for safety-critical applications.
• Develop software requirements, top-level architectures, detailed designs, and interfaces for embedded components and systems.
• Create software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments; execute tests and document results.
• Support hardware/software integration, design verification, acceptance testing, and formal customer-witnessed testing.
• Estimate and measure hardware resource utilization, contribute schedule inputs, and present at design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and collaboration across radar, surveillance, and communication system development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 10+ years of related experience.
• Extensive experience with modern C++, real-time operating systems, and real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with object-oriented design methodology and the full software development life cycle.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a background permitting the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance, including U.S. citizenship.
• Must comply with U.S. export-control requirements, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC policies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps.
• Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Git Bash, Jira, and Artifactory.
• Knowledge of radar, surveillance, and communication systems.
