Software Engineer I (C/C++)

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; travel up to 5% to Navy facilities around the Washington, DC area.

Salary: $83,000–$108,000 per year, depending on experience and location; eligible for an annual performance bonus and potential equity or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Integrate models and components into large-scale simulations for radar and combat systems.
• Develop and maintain GUIs, analysis tools, and build and test automation.
• Contribute to software design and architecture and implement new capabilities.
• Test software, resolve bugs and issues, and support simulation execution and analysis.
• Port code between Windows and Linux environments.
• Collaborate with radar system and modeling and simulation engineers on individual and team assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical field grounded in computer programming.
• Programming skills in C, C++, or Java.
• Interest in the Navy’s AEGIS Combat System and defense technology.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience working in Windows and Linux environments.
