Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

What you will do

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded firmware and software for industrial measurement products.
• Translate system and product requirements into robust, maintainable software architectures and designs.
• Lead hardware-software integration, system validation, performance optimization, debugging, and root-cause analysis from prototypes through production release.
• Collaborate with embedded software, FPGA, hardware, systems, and test engineers across multiple product development programs.
• Develop software verification strategies covering unit testing, integration testing, and system validation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and support Agile planning, reviews, estimation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience and advanced proficiency in C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of embedded operating systems, RTOS concepts, real-time software, interrupt-driven programming, concurrency, memory management, and deterministic system behavior.
• Experience with low-level software, including device drivers, BSPs, middleware, HALs, processor initialization, and board bring-up.
• Experience with embedded peripherals and protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, GPIO, DMA, ADC, and DAC, plus ARM Cortex-A/R/M architectures.
• Experience with Agile development, source control, code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and software quality practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with FPGA-based systems, FPGA/software integration, embedded Linux, bare-metal development, or RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, ThreadX, or Micrium.
• Knowledge of secure boot, trusted execution environments, cybersecurity, and system hardening.
• Experience with DSP, embedded signal processing, real-time filtering, detection, and measurement applications.
• Experience in industrial instrumentation, sensing, flow measurement, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability environments.
• Experience as a technical lead, architect, or engineering subject matter expert, including familiarity with EWARM, JTAG debuggers, Git, Rally, static analysis, and CI/CD workflows.
