Senior Software Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Chelmsford, MA, United States; work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs.

Base salary: $118,265.18–$160,005.83 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Architect, design, and implement embedded software subsystems spanning application software, BSPs, FPGAs, hardware interfaces, and distributed controls.
• Develop and optimize real-time, multithreaded, concurrent, interrupt-driven systems and low-level hardware integrations.
• Lead a technical specialization in BSP/RTOS architecture, motion control, robotics algorithms, EtherCAT distributed controls, or industrial data analytics and AI.
• Debug and resolve system-level issues involving software, electronics, sensors, communication networks, mechanical systems, and customer deployments.
• Define architecture, coding standards, testing strategies, CI/CD workflows, and release-management processes.
• Lead design reviews, root-cause investigations, customer issue resolution, and technical mentoring for other engineers.

Requirements

• Extensive experience developing embedded software for complex real-time systems.
• Expert proficiency in C++11/14/17 and object-oriented software architecture.
• Deep expertise with QNX, Real-Time Linux, or an equivalent RTOS.
• Experience with BSP development, board bring-up, HALs, device drivers, FPGA integration, DMA, IPC, and performance optimization.
• Experience with source control, automated testing, remote debugging, CI/CD, Agile development, and release management.
• Ability to investigate field issues, translate customer requirements into technical solutions, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
