What you will do
- Review injury and vehicle incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide safety guidance to division employees and contractors.
- Observe safety practices and conditions at field locations and recommend corrections or additional precautions.
- Develop and deliver safety training, including demonstrations and testing for respirator fit, hearing loss, forklifts, and excavation.
- Participate in monthly safety team meetings and provide leadership training to safety team leaders.
- Maintain accurate safety records for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant safety experience, or a high school education or equivalent and six years of relevant safety experience.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and obtain or provide explanations and modifications.
- Ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages, and basic statistical methods.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, reference, and information retrieval.
- Ability to perform physical activities including bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and lifting.
